If you are into Beaches in the Caribbean, one exciting visit you must try when in St Thomas, USVI is the excursion to Magen’s Bay. This is one of the most beautiful beaches you will find in the Caribbean. There is a small drive and parking and when the bus unloads, you will find a tree line for some shade, and then a wide beach area with white sand and crystal clear water. The picture (courtesy of Gruepig on WikiCommons) shows exactly what you will see looking out to the water way.  There is swimming and snorkeling, and typically you may find some boats anchored out in the bay area as this is a popular stop for tourists.  This is one stop you want to make because of beauty of the bay and beach areas.  It is probably in the top 10, if not the top 5 in beaches for the Caribbean.  This is definitely a breath taking view as you can see from the pic!

How to get there?
From the Cruise Terminal it is about a 45 min drive by Taxi.  So, you would need to plan accordingly or book this excursion through the cruise line to be sure you make it back.  Typically, the cruise lines have an excursion package to this destination.    And the beach is wide but narrow from the tree line to the water.  So, take advantage of the width if you are with a large cruise ship group if you would like some privacy.  If the beach is crowded, use the width to spread out.  As always bring a beach towel.  There is a concession stand, chair rentals, and three bath houses.
