Well, I always see the comments in the RCCL blog feeds about the Formal Night.   While I wouldn’t mind one night being a bit formal since it is nice to see everyone dressed up, they have 2 nights on a 7-10 day cruise.  That is a bit much.  And, then after sailing, it seems there are differences of opinion on adhering to the dress code to start with.  I fully understand, It’s more things to pack, especially if you are bringing small children on the ship.  So, in my humble opinion, I think the standard dress code they have which is pretty much what I have for expectations to eat at a fine dining establishment and should be sufficient without going all in on formal attire.  That rule should be it for the Main Dining Room without a mandate.   However, if someone ones to be more formal,  go for it, as that is what you would see at a fine dining restaurant.  No one ever comments that someone over dressed.  It usually under-dressed comments in the blogs.  I just think for the respect of the main dining room restaurant, there should be some appropriate attire expected, but sadly even that is pushed to the limit for a dining establishment.   But hey. It is a vacation after all.  You pay plenty for the cruise, and I think removing of the traditional formal night is fine by me.  Bottom Line..    Enjoy your vacation.
